Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.

Who doesn't love Dr. Seuss?  He is one of my favorite childhood authors.  So much so, in fact, my senior year of college, a group of Seuss fan friends would get together for "story time" at the Student Center!  At one point, as I was reading The Butter Battle Book (That is my favorite Seuss book of all time; it's about the Cold War.), passerbys stopped and sat to listen.  Seuss had a way with words (...easy, since he made most of them up!).  His style is simple, yet captivating, with his underlying messages interesting to even adult readers.  Now, as a teacher, Read Across America Day is one of my favorite celebratory days with my students.  I love the overabundance of Seuss tales, Seussical language, and applicable integration of books + characters into multi-subject units.

I just posted a new Seussical Packet of great classroom activities in my TpT store.  Stop by, download, and enjoy in your class!

New Year, New Blog!

Hello all!
My name is Michelle Tomaszewski and I am a first year teacher.  I received a 2nd grade teaching position this past September and my first few months have been nothing short of amazing.  Prior to this year, I had two years of experience as a teacher's aide (pre-k & 1st), which only consolidated my love of teaching.  I also have nearly 9 years of experience in design, which is incredibly helpful to bring into the classroom arena (i.e. classroom set up, flow of a space, creating materials, colors to encourage learning, etc.).

I have recently discovered some AMAZING teaching blogs through TpT, which encouraged  me to start one myself.  It is a new year, which calls for new beginnings!!!  I hope you all enjoy my educational journey as a teacher, as I share what I do in my class (and learn some things along the way), merging my loves of teaching & design.  Here is a link to my very first TpT freebie:

Happy New Year to all!!!
